10,000+ Poultry Culled in Nepal

10,000 chicken and ducks have been culled in the past four days in Nepal’s bird flu ’emergency zone’, on the eastern boarder with India. 26 Districts have now been put on bird flu alert, and any poultry sales, transport, farming or consumption has been prohibited in the crisis area, for a minimum of three months. The action was prompted by the countries first case of avian influenza, believed to have come form bird flu struck neighbours, India.
